The prime responsibility of the Light Section is installation, maintenance and supervision of the various type of Street Light that come under the purview of Chas Municipal Corporation. The intent is to set suitable benchmarks for materials, energy efficiency, systems and workmanship for lighting systems intended for use in areas that come under the jurisdiction of Chas Municipal.
Our Key Functions are:
The Street light is maintained and co-ordinates all the activities through Chas Municipal Corporation Office. The functions of the department can be summarized as stated below:
- Providing street light on all the roads within Chas Municipal Corporation limits (which includes Principal main road, main road and other road).
- Installing of Mobile Tower cum High-Mast light on all the major traffic junctions.
- Replacement of existing conventional street light by energy efficient LED Street light so as to cut down on the O&M expenses on electricity.
- Minimizing the Failure rate of the streetlights and hence providing maximum uptime by carrying out regular maintenance works.
- Temporary electrification works during Chat Puja, Durga Puja, Rama Navami & other festivals.
